Government invites Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) to visit Maldives to promote continued positive engagement

4 February 2016, Male; The Government of Maldives has invited a delegation of Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) to visit the Maldives from 6 to 8 February 2016 in its efforts to engage constructively with the Commonwealth in improving governance issues in the Maldives.

The delegation comprises His Excellency Mr Carl Greenidge (Vice- Chair of CMAG, Vice President and Minister of foreign Affairs of Guyana), Her Excellency Dr Amina Mohamed (Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya), and His Excellency Dr S. Jaishankar (and Foreign Secretary of India). In addition to that, senior officials of the Commonwealth Secretariat will accompany the Delegation.

During the visit, the CMAG Delegation is scheduled to hold discussions with the Government officials and key stakeholders in the country.
