Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call on Vice President

14 July 2016, Male'; The Ambassador of China to the Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Wang Fukang paid a courtesy call on Vice President Abdulla Jihad, this Thursday morning, at the President’s Office.

During the call, discussions were focused on the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and China, and on areas to further expand cooperation between the two countries. The Vice President and the Chinese Ambassador further discussed commerce, housing and other infrastructure projects being carried out in the Maldives with Chinese assistance.

Speaking at the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated the Vice President on his recent appointment and expressed his confidence that relations between the two countries would strengthen further during his tenure.

Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Fathimath Inaya and Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer also attended the call.
