New Ambassador of Iran presents his credentials to the President

24 April 2016; The new Ambassador of Iran to the Maldives, His Excellency Mohammed Zaeri Amirani has presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Sunday morning.

During the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Mohammed Zaeri Amirani on the commencement of his term.

The President expressed his hope and confidence that relations between the Maldives and Iran would continue to strengthen in the future. At the meeting, the President and the Ambassador discussed areas in which Maldives could gain assistance from Iran; importing refined oil from Iran being one.

The Ambassador expressed his desire to corporate and assist in all efforts towards the mutual benefit of both nations.

The President was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon and the Under Secretary at the President’s Office, Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
