The Third Session of the Maldives – Sri Lanka Joint Commission was held this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs headed the Maldivian delegation, and Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka headed the Sri Lankan delegation.

Deputy Ambassador Mr Hassan Shifau and Minister-Counsellor Ms Geela Ali met with Mr Tom Hooper, a representative of the Travel Foundation Exchange.

10 November 2016, London; The Maldives participated at World Travel Market 2016, a three day event from 7-9 November 2016, whereby industry specialists came together to promote Maldives - the Sunny Side of Life. Mr. Haris Mohamed, Acting Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) led the delegation from Maldives.

Maldives wins ‘Best Island’ at the Condé Nast Traveller, Readers’ Travel Awards 2016

Maldives wins three awards at the 2016 Condé Nast Traveller, Readers’ Travel Awards in London reaffirming its position as one the world’s preferred destinations.

Maldives was selected as the winner of the “Best Island” category at the Condé Nast Traveller, Readers’ Travel Awards, seeing off stiff competition from the Greek Islands, the Balearic Islands and the Seychelles.

Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Hassan Shifau and Minister-Counsellor Ms. Geela Ali attended the launch of the University of Westminster’s OPEN show, which is now accessible by members of the public for two weeks.

The UK’s annual temporary visa service in the Maldives will operate on 26 August 2015 from 9:00 to 17:15.

The Foreign Secretary, H.E Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed has met with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, H.E Mr. Kamalesh Sharma. The meeting was held today at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.
