As part of strengthening relations and commercial links between the peoples of the Maldives and the United Kingdom , the High Commission of Maldives in the United Kingdom plays an important role in promoting trade and promotion between the two countries.

All business organisations and agents in the Maldives either in areas of developing tourism industry or service sectors are welcome to contact the High Commission of Maldives to seek useful contacts, information on goods and services in the United Kingdom to be promoted in the Maldives.

At the same time the High Commission plays an important role in attracting investors from the United Kingdom to inject funds and technology into the Maldivian economy. Kosovan President thanks the Maldives for recognising Kosovo's independence
 
At a meeting held today in Kuala Lumpur during President Nasheed's ongoing visit to Malaysia, Kosovo's President Dr Fatmir Sejdiu has thanked the government of the Maldives for being one of the first countries to recognise Kosovo’s independence.
