CONSULAR ASSISTANCEThe High Commission of Maldives in London is responsible for the consular protection of all Maldivian nationals who are temporary residents, or visiting the United Kingdom. Staff at the High Commission will try to do everything they can to assist Maldivians facing difficulties in the United Kingdom. Please note that there maybe certain things that the High Commission cannot assist you with. CONSULAR ASSISTANCE AND SERVICES OFFERED TO MALDIVIANS:
Contact your relatives or friends and ask them to help you with money or tickets. Provide information on transfer of money or means of getting cash in an emergency. Provide information and contact details of local lawyers, doctors etc Arrange for next of kin/guardian to be told of an accident, death and advise on procedures. Visit you if you are arrested or put in prison. In some circumstances we can arrange to deliver messages to be sent to relatives or friends. Give guidance on organisations to help missing items or missing people. Speak to local authorities for you, in some circumstances.
Consular Assistance to the Maldivian students studying in the United Kingdom
During their study period, the student is responsible for managing their stipend. The High Commission is not in a position to provide financial assistance in the event of students overspending their stipend. |
