Renewal of Expired Passports


Processing time:
• Approximately 12 days; if the express postage is paid.


For a speedy service please ensure that all necessary documents are submitted when making your request.


Documents required for Passport Renewal Application:

• Letter requesting passport renewal, with details of documents attached.


• Passport Application Form, duly filled, including contact number and signature on all relevant boxes.


• Two passport-size photographs (white background). Please note that the photo should fit the requirements set by the Department of Immigration and Emigration. Requirements can be checked here: http://maldiveshighcommission.org/pliki/photoguidelines.pdf


• Present passport.


• Copy of Maldivian Identification Card.

At a meeting held today in Kuala Lumpur during President Nasheed's ongoing visit to Malaysia, Kosovo's President Dr Fatmir Sejdiu has thanked the government of the Maldives for being one of the first countries to recognise Kosovo’s independence.
